Meet our different kinds of beads!

Hama offers a large range of products. Common to them all is that they encourage creativity. In addition to the various product categories, we continue to introduce new pegboards, which means that Hama bead play never has to stay the same.

Hama play is creative and encourages development. Our beads allow children to develop their physical and mental skills, while only ever being aware that they are at play.
Hama products help prepare children for when they start school: this fun and experimental form of play encourages familiarity with symbols, numbers and letters.

There are always some extra beads in the tubs and boxes, so you can be sure there will be enough beads to make the designs shown on the product packaging.

Hama is safe to play with and is regularly tested for compliance with current safety standards.

Three steps towards a finished design

1. Lay the beads on the pegboard in your own design or following one of our suggested patterns.
2. Lay the ironing sheet on top of the beads and ask an adult to iron your design.
3. Leave your design to cool down under a heavy book. Once it is cool, carefully peel the design from the pegboard.

Small tubular beads - 2.5mm Ø - ages 10 and over - can be ironed or sewn.

MINI

Hama Mini beads are the smallest beads in our range with a diameter of just 2.5 mm. This size is suitable for children aged ten and over. Lots of adults also enjoy Mini beads as an alternative to cross-stitch embroidery.

The size of these beads makes it possible to produce very detailed patterns. Patience is required.

Mini beads are available in 59 different colours.

Medium size tubular beads - 5.0 mm Ø - ages 5 and over - can be ironed or sewn.

MIDI

Hama Midi beads are 5.0 mm in diameter and can be used in two different ways. They can be ironed or sewn to produce finished designs.

The ironing system is probably the one you are most familiar with. The beads are laid out on a pegboard and then ironed (remember to leave this part to an adult) until they have fused together.

The beads can also be sewn into beautiful designs.

Midi beads are available in 66 different colours, 3 luminous and striped beads in 3 combinations.

Large tubular beads - 10.0 mm Ø - ages 3 and over - can be ironed.

MAXI

Maxi beads are suitable for the smallest children who have not yet developed sufficient motor skills to manage the beads in our systems.

The bigger 10mm diameter beads are easy for tiny fingers to position on a pegboard and can be ironed when the design is ready. Maxi is therefore also part of our ironing system.

Pegs for ages 3 and up - easy for smaller fingers to use.

MAXI STICK

Very young children find it fun to let their small fingers make patterns using these attractive, colourful semicircular pegs. The pegs are easy to hold, put in the board and to move around. The boards are very robust and hard-wearing, and contain just the right amount of holes. This gives children a positive feeling of success.

The pegs are also shaped so that they don’t need to be pressed all the way in, which makes it easy to take them out again and move them.
